Hi, I’m Amanda — journal maker, storyteller, reader, wife, mom, and the creator behind BookWorks by Amanda.
What started with a simple meal planner made for my own family turned into something much bigger. Somewhere between stacks of paper, late night ideas, and a love for meaningful words, BookWorks by Amanda was born.
I’ve always believed there is something powerful about writing things down. Prayers. Dreams. Sermon notes. Stories. The moments we never want to forget and the thoughts we don’t quite know what to do with yet.
Today, I handcraft journals and workbooks from my home in the Southeast, creating pieces designed to encourage reflection, creativity, faith and everyday living. Many of my designs are rooted in the King James Version of the Bible, while others are simply made to help people preserve their stories and memories.
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I’m so glad you’re here.

Meet the Brand I’ve Been Making
As the creative force behind BookWorks by Amanda. When I started this little Side Hustle, I never dreamed it would ever be big enough to have a website, and I certainly did not think that my creations would be all over the US (including Alaska). Nope, I just wanted a meal planner for my little family to keep up with groceries… BAM! Six years later… here we are.
I have an obsession with watercolors, I know, you definitely could not tell. lol. But I also have an obsession with Jesus and my faith. I wanted to make books and journals that featured the King James Version of the Bible because those items are few and far between nowadays.
BookWorks really came to life in my kitchen one evening after Christmas 2019. I was gifted a book binding machine and some book binding supplies. Not for the purposes of starting a business or a side hustle just to tinker around with and make a meal planner for our personal groceries.
I made that meal planner and by standards, it was hideous. I however thought it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. So immediately I popped over to Facebook and said… look what I can do! lol. So pleased with myself. Within minutes, I had 12 messages that said… I want one! So there, in my little kitchen, BookWorks by Amanda was born. I had zero clue what would come of it, I was just having fun.
Fast forward from 2019 to 2026 and BookWorks has made some new strides. We are now (just this year) a LLC Company. I feel like a prize poodle, like look, I have papers! lol. But this year, I was able to make BookWorks by Amanda an official legalized company and now have so many more business options available.
My true heartfelt desire for BookWorks by Amanda (the business) is to be a place where anyone can come and find the perfect journal, workbook, or notepad to start their own story. Writing is 100% all-inclusive and so are we. That is why you will find journals that have KJV Scriptures and wording and Journals that do not have any scripture on them. Our stories are our own and the books we choose to write them in should be too.
2026 Has Been “The” Year!

This year is also the year I added a new title, and a childhood dream was checked off the bucket list. I wrote a book!
March 2026, I released my first book, The Forest of Unwritten Things. A book that follows Clara through her encounters with various journals in a magical forest that she was in fact taken to by a Raven who showed up in her back yard.
This story came after dealing with some very heavy grief of my own in life. Writing this story gave me closure I desperately needed. It is an atmospheric fantasy book, that takes place in a magical realm. There is no cussing and no “smut” as they call it these days.
This book could be picked up, understood and enjoyed by various age groups. I don’t really recommend it for littler ages, I would say 11 would be a good starting age.

I enjoyed writing The Forest of Unwritten Things so much, that later in the summer, the SECOND BOOK will be coming out! The Hollow of . . . (I can’t give it all away at one time… lol.) This story follows the main characters of the series – I can’t believe I can call it a series – through a new location, with a new character, and a journey through a new very real human emotion. I hope you’ll stay tuned and come back when it’s ready!
When I am not punching a bajillion holes in paper, running covers through the laminator, designing beautiful covers I think you’ll love – or chasing paper gremlins through a fantasy forest… you’ll find me with my family.
They are just as much a part of The BookWorks Crew as I am.
I currently reside in the Southeast with my little family, the hubs and two kiddos, if only it stopped there, 1 spoiled chihuahua, 3 cats, and a grand-fish, named Violet.
Twice on Sundays and once on Wednesday nights, we fill our little pew at church and glean from the goodness that God gives to us from across the pulpit (Mental Note: plug sermon notes journals here – ahahaha – I’m kidding). But we do very much enjoy our church and thank God for the opportunities to serve and be served through our local church.
If you have questions… ask. If you are looking for something specific for your story (or as a gift)… ask. I am here to serve you through this place that is BookWorks by Amanda and I look forward to being able to do that for many years to come.

Welcome to BookWorks.
I’m so glad you’re here. This little corner of the internet is where faith, creativity, journals, stories, and everyday life meet on paper. Some pieces are rooted in Scripture. Some are simply made for reflection, memory keeping, or the stories still being written. Either way, I hope you find something here that feels meaningful, useful, and made with heart.
